A Roman military cult, whose origins stretch all the way back to the legions of ancient Rome, is assassinating prominent Gothamites. But when Batgirl's investigation leads her head-on into Connor Hawke, will there be a martial arts dream team-up or a titanic tussle?

Prominent Gothamites begin dying, felled by archers, and Batgirl sets out to investigate. She encounters Connor Hawke and assumes he is the assassin (he is carrying a bow after all) but is persuaded otherwise with help from Eddie Fyers. Unknown to them, the deaths are connected with a two-thousand-year-old organization.
